I know the youtube channel behind Batmetal  (and Batmetal returns ) released their Batman themed viral-parody sensation well over a year ago now, but funny story- when Metallica's video for ' Hardwired ' hit youtube I watched it to which youtube recommends a Metallica reacts video- which I also watched. On that video there was a recommendation for a Batmetal reacts video which reminded me again of Batmetal. Anyway, partly because I didn't completely know all about the different Robins and based on some of the comments not realising the song is not original etc I figure someone, even if it's just me, might take something away from a rundown on the characters making up Batmetal. Please bear in mind I'm not a comic book guy, this is all based on the characters appearances in DC / Warner Bros animated movies (TV series takes too long to binge through). Batman- Vocals . Everyone knows Batman, right? In terms of animates portrayals I'm a sucker for the b

Video update for 19th October 2016

Hi, Just wanted to put out a quick up date after the first of two interviews I have lined up in close succession. The first interview was with Anders, the front man from In Flames. The band has a new album, 'Battles' due out on the 11th of November 2016 & we talked all about that.  It was their new song 'Save Me' that I refer to in the video & one of the riffs on that song seemed to inspire my interpretation.

Quick Video Update

Hi guys, Time for a quick video update from the shores of Lake Wanaka itself. Okay, I just wanted to say that the heavy metal wanaka podcast is now up on Stitcher and TuneIn radio services- i.e now available on android devices and that I have two potential interviews that I'm waiting for to be sorted out that are coming up very shortly.

Coming soon to Stitcher

I just submitted the Heavy Metal Wanaka podcast to Stitcher and TuneIn , which are podcast / radio show outlets which allows you to listen via a free App available on iOS and Android devices. Hopefully I'll hear back from them in the next couple of business days to find out if they'll accept the show. If successful, then not only would we be easily available to iphone and youtube users, but this would add android mobile users into the fold as well! stay tuned to our facebook / twitter pages where I'd likely be announcing any confirmation, afterwards I'll add a link (or whatever) from our blog (here) to our Stitcher page. This comes on the heels of the podcast being listed on iTunes and youtube, as well as our version of a radio show hosted via mixcloud.com (i.e. royalties covered)

The Heavy Metal Wanaka Show Ep. 10

Welcome to The Heavy Metal Wanaka Show Episode 10. There's a selection of music for you this week, and in the excitement of a rock / metal band visiting Wanaka (i.e. Devilskin playing at Rhythm N Alps 30th December) I regale listeners with the story of how I got involved in the local street team for it. Alongside the names we know are going to kick ass, like Devilskin, The Agonist, Sikth, Allegaeon etc, I stumble across a couple new gems that might pique your interest, as they have mine: - "Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard" where musically they might be within the ball park of what you might expect, they throw a wee bit of an interesting curveball with the vocals. - "Sisters of Suffocation" , this all female brutal band take the 'Kittie' approach to member selection in a male dominated field and show everyone how it's done- regardless of who the hell you are! Playlist: DEVILSKIN- Pray CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED- The Soulless THE AGONIST-
